for ages 2 1/2
and younger with a caregiver.
All new songs
this year!
Both programs
will be held at the Slusser Center.
Please park in
library parking or behind the Slusser Center.
1000
Books Before Kindergarten
We encourage
you to read with your child every day!
Sign up at the
library and we’ll supply the materials to get you started. After 100 stories,
your child will receive
a tote bag
with the 1000 Books logo.
Upon
completing the 1000, we’ll celebrate at a special concert.
It’s never too
late to begin!
Stop
and Read
Here’s an
activity for you and your children that will get you outside AND reading!
Four “Story
Stops” are set up at the following locations:
- the Jane Lewellen Bandstand (near the Depot)
- the playground behind the Slusser Center
- on the Slusser Center porch
- on the Hopkinton Town Library covered porch
(closest to
the Slusser Center)
Read the
stories and follow the directions in the bag.
Don’t forget
to leave the book for the next reader!
After you’ve
read all four stories, bring your checklist (in the bag)
to the library
(lower level of the Slusser Center) and choose a book prize.
(All four of
the picture books are from the Top 100 Picture Books for the 21st
Century (compiled by School Library Journal.)
