I dedicate this blogpost to the memory of Bob Lewellen, whose memorial service will take place tomorrow at 11am at First Church. Bob and Jane were great library users and supporters and made an extraordinary gift to the library after the lightning strike that made possible the renovations to the children's area. Jane is still with us at 100 and going strong!
Meanwhile, speaking of the children's area, thanks to a contribution from the Loft Family, we are finally moving ahead with a mural (that had been on our wish list post lightning strike). After some missteps, we realized (duh) that our own Barb Diaz could use her wonderful artistic talent to good effect on this task. She is working on creating a celebration of four seasons in NH, featuring our state birds, wildlife, flora and fauna of all kinds. It has been wonderful to see it emerge. She's working on summer now. Come visit!
And Winnepocket landscaping is working on our planters as I type. So glad for that. Good weekend to all. dvd
