Between the Covids A bookish Idea

We have a partnership pending with MainStreet Bookends (the independent bookstore) in Warner.  Mechanics in development, but here's the broad outline (I confess the idea is stolen from the library in Tamworth):

  • We will come up with a list of new adult fiction and nonfiction titles, and books for children and teens
  • Copies will be ordered through MainStreet Bookends in Warner using our library discount
  • We will put a list out through our website, Friends email list and Susan Covert list
  • Library patrons can contact the library (either directly to me or our info account) and we will reserve the title of interest for you.  One per customer.  That title will then be removed from the list.
  • When the title is received at MSB, patron will be notified so that they can come by the bookstore in Warner for curbside pickup
  • Happy Reading!
  • When we re-open, we ask that the title will be returned to the library for processing
  • Title will be added to Library collection
If you have thoughts on this idea, or if there is a particular title you would like to have added to the list, please email me at ddunlop@hopkintontownlibrary.org.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Meanwhile, anyone know where this image is from?  If you're interested in a fun library scavenger hunt, go to the excellent kids' page on our website...Staff member Laura Mackenzie has been putting these together.
I'll sign off with an image of myself,: as I view me in the mirror I see a kind of deranged Leon Trotsky with my circular glasses and out of control hair and no eye makeup for almost one month.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it!  Until tomorrow...
