Happy VE Day

Thanks to my friend the archivist at Associated Press, here is an excellent post celebrating May 7th, VE Day, She gathered some wonderful photos and wrote the text in the post.  Check it out.  Nice  congruity for me since I'm reading Erik Larson's "Splendid and the Vile" about Churchill in the early days of WWII. A first rate read.

Tomorrow I'm going to be sending my first list of titles to Katharine at MainStreet Bookends in Warner.  There's still time to put in a request at ddunlop@hopkintontownlibrary.org.  Really, I'd be happy to hear from you.  Otherwise you're just going to have to depend upon me for your choices.  We'll post the list on the website on Monday and then you can put dibs on what you are interested in.

Today I was on a Webex (like zoom) call with library directors across the state.  The major focus of the call was on varied options for phasing the re-opening of libraries.  The state is still urging caution.  Next week's meeting of the Hopkinton Town Library staff will focus on our local plan.  Will keep you posted.

Finally, a Mouse report.  She has returned to being her aloof cattish self and is no longer my constant companion.  Sigh. But then again, I'm no longer spending all of my time in one place.  She prefers to be with Elena or stalking chipmunks (from the safety of the porch).  Or playing cat in a box...
