happy friday

Today I'm making some preparations for meetings that will take place next week, including a trustee meeting and Gallery Committee meeting.  For the latter, we need to begin to plot out what will be up on our walls in 2021.  Pam Tarbell now holds the prize for the show that has been on display for the longest period of time; it went up in March this year.  If you haven't seen her vibrant canvasses, come in to check them out.  It will brighten your day.  Her virtual tour, thanks to Bob LaPree is still up on our website and worth a look.  A new show will go up in November.  I'm excited at the prospect of partnering with the new 2 Villages Art Group that now lives in the Bates Building.  With the library trustees, there will be a review of  a draft Pandemic Policy  as well as a Remote Work Policy, in the hope that neither will need to be put into effect.  Also reviewing the proposed 2021 budget.  I could swear we just reviewed the 2020 budget.  sigh.

And a small thing that makes me happy and a reflection on a small thing that I miss in covid times.  The Take It or Leave It table at the transfer station was always an incentive for me to do the dump run. I miss it... I have had some great finds there.  In the last couple of weeks I discovered a pre covid find that I had stowed in a basement cabinet for future use.  I found this goofy rabbit and squirrel on the Take it or Leave it early last spring but put it away (I couldn't have a fall mug out in the summer...)  It makes me smile every time I see it, not to mention drink my coffee from it...It's the small things that help get us through the day...Good weekend to all...
