Is it Friday already

Lots of meetings this week and good planning for our phased in re-opening.  Plans for a deep clean of the library in place and staff will be easing back to work in the library next week (they have been hard at work from home be assured), getting books back on the shelves after quarantine.  We are planning one more round of BooksNow!  with MainStreet Bookends, but all eyes are on curbside pickup in June and the start of the virtual Summer Reading Program.

Face shields.  Check. Plexi Barrier for welcome desk.  Check.  Cleaning supplies.  Half a check.  Masks.  Check.  (You know, those nice metallic ones.  Not!) Step by step plan.  In the works on the way to checking.  Supplies!

And Quarantined Books!

And finally, I'm going to telegraph to my relatively small readership that in June we will be switching from our current Online Public Access Catalog "Evolve" (that's what you use to check out our collection, see what's new, put things on reserve etc and what we use to manage the collection and monitor check outs etc..) to a new and improved system "Apollo"--this will "speak" much more efficiently with the state and have more bells and whistles and a new look including a lovely scroll of images of new book covers.  This will be happening in June.  More information to follow. It will be a good thing, though there will be a bit of a learning curve for all.

Stay tuned.  Happy Memorial Day.  Drink plenty of fluids.  Wash your hands.  Wasn't it just freezing?
