Staff book reviews - Nancy Thursday 4/23

Today's reviews are from Nancy Raymond! Nancy has worked at the library for almost as many years as Karen!

Delicious! By Ruth Reichl

Moving across the country to start a new job at a food magazine "Delicious", Billie is a shy and quiet person but she certainly knows her food. This wonderful book is full of intriguing plots with many twists and turns. If you're interested in learning more about the world of restaurateurs in downtown New York then this is the book for you. Highly recommended! Available as an ebook or audiobook on Overdrive/Libby.

The War That Saved My Life  by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

Set in London during World War II, Ada was never allowed to leave the house. Because of her club foot, she was shunned by her mother and treated as an embarrassment. In order to survive, when the children began evacuating the city, Ada and her brother took the opportunity to join them, sneaking out of the house. What they encountered was both harrowing and surprising. This is one of my favorite books and is a great read. Available as an ebook or audiobook on Overdrive/Libby.
