There are images from this time that will abide:
Empty paper product shelves at Sam's Club. Need a research paper, anyone? Who started the rumor about the toilet paper shortage. That certainly seems to have brought out the worst in some of us..
But also this: Here is an image from the library vestibule where we are placing "take out" orders for library materials to our patrons who are hungry for books and other entertainment. Libraries across the state have created innovative services to safely get materials out to their patrons, while keeping staff safe. Though there is evidence that the virus can last only up to 72 hours on plastic and cardboard, we are still not lending out anything that has been returned in the last week. That said, we may be calling this service to a halt. We will send more information out on Monday.
Stay tuned for information on an exciting new service we will be adding thanks to our Foundation, called Hoopla, which provides access to e- and audiobooks, movies, comics and music. With no waiting lists. More next week. It's nice to be back.
Go for a walk with loved ones. Read, read, read. Start preparing your gardens. Rearrange and paint your cabinets. Wash your hands. Read. Go outside. Take a nap. Chat with a friend. Enjoy your own company. Read. Wash your hands. Breathe deeply. Try some yoga or meditation. Watch a movie. Read. Go for a walk. Did I mention washing your hands. Oh, cook something marvelous. I'm going to do Guinness Pie again, which I wrote about this time LAST year. Best to all for a calm weekend.
