Home at Last

It was an intentionally quiet opening day, but marvelous nonetheless.  The Schlesing Family was at the door ready to come in before ten and we had a steady stream all day.  The staff is elated to be back in our space.  So much is more right than it was, but we are also hyper aware of each technical difficulty, each spot, each bit of out of whackness.  Please bear with us.  But mostly it is, as my father in law used to say "lovely grand."    We even had some takers on our cafe.

This is a work in progress.  We are committed to trying to stay as green as we can with compostable cups and lids.  We bought a Keurig, with the intention of collecting the cups and grounds and sending them back with the "Grounds to Grow On Program"--but we haven't been able to make the d--n machine work.  This gives a new spin on planned obsolescence.  Stay tuned.  We'll just have coffee the old fashioned way...Milk is in the fridge beneath the counter in the cafe.  Will wonders never cease...

The first show of our 2019 gallery season has also been hung.  It features artists whose work is in the local history room.  If you haven't ventured into our Local History Room, you should definitely check it out.  We do not have all the artists represented--that might be a show in the future, but this time around we have work by Ellen Davis
Andre Hurtgen
Charlotte Thibault (first two on left)

and Catherine Houston Tuttle
Best to come see them all in person, rather than my inferior photos.  We are so lucky to have such talented artists in our midst.
