Grand Party

Hard to know exactly how many people we had, but certainly more than for any other library-sponsored event.  It was a joy to see all of the people across the age spectrum.  The Tall Granite Big Band played out on the back lawn to an appreciative audience and Rachel Montroy (with the assistance of Kim and Elaine Emerson and Rachel's mom) helped kids make beautiful felted rocks and decorate a three paneled drawing  of the library.  Elaine Loft, the Chair of the Library Board of Trustees (which ran the event, with the assistance of volunteers from the Friends of the Library group) spoke to the assembled throng thanking the multitude of individuals and organizations that helped to bring the library back.  She was followed by Senator Dan Feltes who presented a NH Senate Resolution recognizing the Library.  And Bob LaPree documented the whole shebang.  Pictures to follow.  A couple of other shout outs to all of those community members who adornied the library with flowers including posies from their gardens.  It was the perfect touch.  And Sienna Larson put together two beautiful pots, one with a fern and one ivy, plants that can tolerate the low light of the library.  Thanks to all.

The theme of the day and our days moving forward is gratitude.  We are so fortunate to be in this community that values its library as a community gathering place and as a free source of information, reading, listening and viewing material and technical support.
