thankful on friday

Thanks for many kind words on the absence of Zinnia.  Good progress today.  I picked up fabric (to match upholstery on new chairs) for the window seat cushions that we are having made by an upholsterer in Concord.  Who knew that cushions are such a tricky business?

Tomorrow the library will be part of a program:  "Aging well at home” right here in Hopkinton is the topic being discussed at the Slusser Center, 41 Houston Drive, on April 6 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Speakers will briefly address emotional health, community involvement, person-centered planning, de-cluttering and using assistive technology for safety and independence as we age. Representatives from ServiceLink and Assistive Technology in New Hampshire will be joined by local service providers from the Concord VNA, Dial-a-Ride, the town fire and police departments, the Slusser Center and the library. Speakers will be available after introductory presentations to sit and talk with attendees about specific situations. Whether for yourself, your parents, or your neighbors, come and be informed! For more information, call Marilyn at Hopkinton Human Services, 746-8244.

Did YOU know that we will deliver books, movies, audiobooks or other library materials right to your home if you're unable to get out.  Our "Words on Wheels" program is a great, if under-utilized service.  Call Karen at 746-3663 if you're interested in hearing more.

Good weekend to all.
