spring is springing

It looks to be quite a glorious day out there.  Let mud season begin.  Please.  Lots of activity over at the big house today.  Another reason for celebration.  Not one, not two, but THREE Irish Electric trucks here to work on our new lighting.  If you can remember back that far, you may recall that the lighting in our beautiful library was a bit less than wonderful.  Nice for an intimate restaurant, but not so great if you actually wanted to read spine labels. That is one of the things that we will be remedying in our new space.  With all energy efficient fixtures.  Of course.

We have also been inventorying a bit, to determine how much of the collection we lost.  We are still thinking that it will turn out to be approximately 5% of the collection lost.  Those were the books that were the most directly in the line of fire, really in the line of water.  Want a sense of why some books won't be coming back?  See this one that seems to have been on its very own rafting trip..
Good weekend to all.  Maybe see you at town meeting.  Should be interesting...Don't forget to consider coming to our author talk on Sunday at 3 to hear from Elise Worden Hooper talk about her new book of fiction on the life of photographer Dorothea Lange!
