happy friday

More progress on painting.  Liking some colors, others not so much.  Finalizing floor coverings.  Fun things to contemplate.  Next week, the weathervane will be going back up.  Reminder, though it was the highest point on the building, it was NOT struck by lightning.  The lower front corner of the cupola was the target.  After the weathervane is installed, the ceiling below the cupola will be framed out, insulated and put in place.  The door on the craft room will be moved to extend the reach of the children's area.  Cafe furniture has been selected.....

Down at Slusser, staff seem to be spending most time printing out tax forms and distributing the instruction booklets we have.  Remember that we host the free AARP tax preparation program, as we have for decades.  They are in the library community room on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  If you want to make an appointment  to have your taxes done (no age requirement), just call 2-1-1 and follow the prompts.  Trust me. It works.

I'll be taking Ian Rankin's "In a House of Lies" home this weekend.  It will join the new biography of Chinese poet Li Bai (or Li Po) by Ha Jin in honor of Chinese New Year, "Unmarriageable" by Soniah Kamal, a send up of "Pride and Prejudice" but taking place in contemporary Pakistan and "The Library Book" by Susan Orlean.  Talk about PTSD.  Hope you can get outside this weekend, spend some time reading, eat some good food, be nice to one another.  dvd
