You may have heard our very own Leigh Maynard on NHPR today. She was talking about a lovely program that she put together to bring our library out into the community. Her "Story Stops" involve four locations in town (Library porch, Slusser Center porch, Jane Lewellen Bandstand and the playground) where lucky families can find a storybook in a plastic bag. NOTE: we define "family very broadly!!) Families are invited to read the story (please leave the book behind for others to enjoy), fill out the form to record that you've been to that "stop" and when you've read all four, come into our little Slusser library to get a prize! The below is a priceless pic of Sara Persechino with a gaggle of sweet peas reading at the bandstand! What could be better??!!
A lovely weekend to all. Read some books, be kind to one another, get outside and send all positive thoughts out to those who need them most. Here's hoping that I have more information for you on the building in the new week. dvd
