Friday Update and a Blast from the Past

We've been uncovering many historical files as a result of our event.  Heather Mitchell is helping us come up with a plan, the Friends of the Library Board will be reviewing decades of meticulous handwritten notes and Bob LaPree has agreed to photo document some items that were water damaged but are worth preserving digitally.

The below images from 1998
provide a kind of eerie echo of our now empty building, where the ceiling tiles have been partially removed and the carpet completely so.
There are also pictures of some of the original players who worked so diligently on the new Library in Houston Park , including George Chase, Chris Hamm, Trina Richardson, Jeanne Prewitt, Becky Schultz, Celeste Hemingson, and seated, Dorothy Osborne, whose incredible generosity helped to get the project off the ground.  We'd love help in identifying some other others in the pictures.
We are looking for volunteers who might be willing to work with us on going through papers, photos and other materials.  Please contact me at ddunlop@hopkintontownlibrary.org if you are interested.  Thanks.   Good weekend to all.
