one step closer

Today we had a plexi sheet installed at the Welcome Desk and at Leigh's desk, which can put us one step closer to some manner of opening.  We're not there yet, but this will be a subject of discussion with the library trustees this wednesday night.  Kinda difficult to see an object that's clear. This must be a metaphor for something...But trust me, it's there.  With a space beneath perfect for sliding books back and forth.

Tomorrow the Summer Reading Program kicks off.  How can that be?  Leigh has done a great job and if you're interested in learning more, just hop on the kids page on the website.  It's not too late to sign up; that's the beauty of a virtual program.  Happy Monday.  Where's the rain?

Also, good news, the IMLS (Institute for Museum and Library Services) just released their report on how long coronavirus lives on books.  They confirm the 72 hours, having tested covers, interior pages, DVDs etc.  link to the full report below.
