wednesday wednesday

As I type the word, it strikes me how truly odd it is...maybe I knew the below once upon a time, but here you have it for what it's worth.

In fact, the name Wednesday actually derives from two mighty but distinct gods. The Old English word forWednesday indicates that the day was named for the Germanic god Woden. In Romance languages, the name is derived from the Roman god Mercury. (For example, Wednesday is mercredi in French and miercuri in Romanian.)

So, the latest is that the shelving will be here tomorrow morning.  I will report.  And today, Karen and I had webex administrator training on the new phone system with TDS.  Remember when one could pick up one's phone and speak.  Good lord, I date myself.

Today the library staff provided dessert at Senior Lunch as a thank you for the Slusser hospitality in our months of displacement.  We are so fortunate to have been made so welcome and given such support.  On the cookies...pretty good, if I do say so myself.  If the shelving doesn't show up tomorrow, we may close up shop and open a bakery....
