really happy friday

Ok, I confess, I'm glad that we're looking ahead to a long weekend.  But let me share some exciting pieces of news.  We finally have notification that the shelving is actually en route.  Or en Croute as we like to say in our family.  Should be here tuesday or wednesday next week.  Our Canon copier was transferred over to the main library from Slusser today and it has been successfully networked to the staff and public computers.  Apologies to those of you who have been using our copier at Slusser, but you should still be able to make copies at Slusser upstairs next week.
One of the changes that we've made is transforming the old copier room into an office for Karen.  It's great for her to have dedicated space.  She also often does tech training, so it will be helpful for her to be a bit out of the fray for that as well.
We also had a new bulletin board installed in the vestibule (thanks Chi Hofe!!).  The first notice that went up there was about our GRAND RE-OPENING on June 9th from 3 to 5.  Fingers crossed that we can still make our "soft" opening on June 4th.  Stay tuned.  Meanwhile, we are still staffing Slusser for the usual hours.  There are books, movies, magazines, museum passes and audiobooks and ILLs there still.

Some nice news received this week. H.R. Clough is going to pay for the band at the opening event.  Great support from a local business.  We are much appreciative.

Lovely weekend to all.  Thank a veteran!
