Monitoring things

If you didn't get a chance to see the Concord Monitor on Thursday, the below link should work.  Nice article by Nick Stoico.  From the "Hopkinton Monitor"

A lot of progress has been made over the last few months in the renovation of the Hopkinton Town Library since the fire last August. I checked in with Donna Dunlop, the library director, this week and she showed me around the fixed up space. While there is still much work to be done, the first thing that jumped out to me was the simple sight of books back on the shelves, a signal that the town will have its full library back in a short matter of time.

I spoke at NH Library Association on Thursday, which went well enough.  Today staff spent time figuring out what the next few weeks will look like.  Be forewarned that most of the books that have been at Slusser have been moved over to the "big house" to be interfiled with the rest of the collection.  We still have our "new books," returned items and the movie and audiobook collection and museum passes.  We are still doing ILLs, letting folks use the computers for short term needs and just being us.  Next week will be focused on getting books on the shelves, but we still do not have the missing new shelving, which continues to put a cramp in the reshelving project.

Meanwhile, staff continues to be great.  Several people will be here on Saturday beginning to get the A/V collection back on the shelves.  More anon.  Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.  And for those of you who have mothers, best to you as well.  oxoxoox
