On a day like today, spring seems only like the dimmest promise, but earlier in the week I saw four male cardinals fighting and careening through the air to impress one female. It was quite a show.
So what to do on a weekend that may bring more clouds than sun?
Armchair traveling with Paul Theroux's newest "Figures in a Landscape: People and Places"
or "North on the Wing: Travels with the songbird migration of Spring" by Bruce Beehler
Learn something new about yourself with the new "Mama's Last Hug: Animal Emotions and What they tell us about ourselves" by Frans De Waal
Perhaps dipping into one of our newest history books: "The First conspiracy: the secret Plot to Kill George Washington" by Brad Meltzer.
Or spread your wings and plan a new project with "Drawing: Techniques and Tutorials for the Complete Beginner" or "Digital Photography Masterclass"
I haven't even gotten to cookbooks...happy weekend to all, whatever you decide to do.
