One down, one to go.  We interviewed one contractor on Monday evening and another this Thursday.  Library trustees hope to have a contractor chosen by the end of the week.  This will feel like real progress, but it's important to note that even once a contractor is chosen it will take up to a month to actually start the work on the space, given the time it takes to purchase supplies and line up subcontractors.  Still, it means that things are falling into space and we will be able to attend to decisions around floor coverings and layout and work on the HVAC system can begin.

I'm looking forward to the Friends of the Hopkinton Town Library Fall meeting this evening.  I'll be giving the same presentation that I gave to the Rotary Club last week.  We are so appreciative of the support provided by our Friends group.  With the proceeds from its membership dues, the annual booksale and other fundraising efforts, they support our museum pass program, programming, and landscaping among other things.  We are a better library because of the support of our Friends!

If you read this before 6:30, when the meeting starts at the Slusser Center, come on over.  Or, stop by for a visit.  Questions, comments and recommendations are welcome.
