Downton Abbey Talk this Sunday at 4pm!

The Real Downton Abbey: Highclere Castle
Independent Scholar Joanna Henderson will be here on Sunday March 2nd at 4pm for a talk on  Highclere Castle on which Downton Abbey is based, as well as the Carnarvon Family on which the Grantham Family is modeled.  Downton Abbey’s real Edwardian family who lived in Highclere Castle were fascinating people with stories as captivating as their Masterpiece Theatre /  PBS alter egos.  The saga of the Carnarvon family is well documented through household records, diaries, letters and photographs.   This talk and slide show will look at the real family who lived in Highclere during the time period portrayed in the popular television series.

Library closed Wednesday 2/5

Due to the wintry weather, the library will be closed today.  Hope you have a good book and a good movie to watch. Or download an ebook or an eaudiobook at the NH Downloadable Books Consortium: you've been meaning to try it and all you need is your library card number!  If you have questions go to the official NH downloadable books blog - it probably has the answer to any questions you might have.
Stay safe and drive slowly if you do go out on the roads.
